Students with Disabilities

Students with disabilities are entitled with an additional grant. In such situation, they need to submit an application at Erasmus+ Office, as well as a budget for the additional grant needed for the mobility abroad. Subsequently, the applications have to be sent at the State Scholarship Foundation (National Agency – IKY) for the additional grants per application to be approved and to modify the agreement between the National Agency – IKY and UniWA.

Useful Information

  • Students with disabilities should arrange the mobility procedure at least 6 months before their departure.
  • Students with disabilities should meet the Requirements for participating at Erasmus+.
  • Students should submit in written form the additional individual needs, as well as the difficulties they face, as a result of their disability. This description should be accompanied by a recent medical report from a public hospital, or a recent certificate from a Disability Certification Center or any other recent official certification.
  • In cases of mental diseases, the students should also submit a recent certificate that they can participate at the Erasmus+ program.
  • Students should also submit a detailed financial budget (as in Appendix I of the Application Form) for the additional grant needed. Students will be granted with the total amount of the additional grant before the mobility.
  • Students should submit all the required documents (invoices, receipts etc.) after their mobility in order to cover their expenses.

Indicative Additional Needs Covered:

  • Escort for the journey (to and from the partner country)
  • Transport from and to the Partner HEI or institution as well as around the country.
  • Accommodation at appropriately equipped room (in case the dormitory does not have such a room).
  • Assistant during the day or night.
  • Caretaker
  • Assistant during the courses (note keeping etc.)
  • Medical monitoring (physiotherapy etc.)
  • Teaching material (in Braille, magnified photocopies, recorded lectures etc.)
  • Special dietary
  • Medicines, in case they are not covered from the medical/pharmaceutical insurance.
